nerd photo......

i have been shooting photos for a long time.  That and skateboarding are my two of the things that keep me movin along with oxygen and coconut water.  It's funny to think about the days when i first started really taking photography seriously.  Always had my notepad.  Always jotting down frame #, exposure and aperture, while constantly experimenting to try and gain a grasp on the shutter/aperture relation, only to wait sumtimes a week to four till you could get your negs back and then cross reference what you had done and try to learn.  I purchased many a photog bood from anywhere i could find them and read, read, read, the shit out of them.  Aperture/shutter relation, aperture/shutter relation.  No matter how hard i tried, once i was in the field, it was always a battle.  me, looking down at the apt. ring and shutter dial trying to remember what i had studied so tediously over and over.  Well like so many things go, one day it clicked and the fact that f 5.6 @ 1/60th would give you the same exposure as f 1.8 @1/400th was finally sumptim i didn't have to ponder.  Those two guys relation is something of beauty and unfortunately something most people holding cameras these days in da digi age (hopefully not) may never comprehend.  Anyways.....blah, blah, blah.    Opening it up is the best.

sausage trip photos........

  About a month ago when Todd contacted me with the idea of bringin the sausage crew to bellingham to skate, but to be honest,  i kinda figured the idea would fizzle away as peoples plans to come up north so often do.  Throughout the last few weeks i kept receiving emails and realized the the plan may actually come to fruition.   Well it did and here is a batch of photos from the sausage crewz trip to bellingham on monday.  Unfortunately i didn't shoot any actual skate pics as i was wielding my vid-cam most of the time, but hey, gives them a reason to come back up and visit, not to mention we only hit about a third of the to-do spots on the spot list for the day.  that being said enjoy a glimpse at our day. 

we started off the day warming up at my house skating my box in the front yard.  the crew was in almost immediate shred mode.  Rare when yer in your later 20's early 30's and your straight outta a car after a long drive.  the box always gets peepz hyped and this seemed to be no exception.



After that, we went to the bellingham park.  when we showed up the park was teeming with young mothers who seemed to have asssembled not only their own children, but all their walking partners young one's as well.  No shortage of blades or skoots.  Pretty much a bag.  We skated for a bit.  Steve battled a trick for a few while Jessee, Andy, Seamus and I sat in Blue Xanadu with A/C blasting.  complete comfort.  Better than watchin a skate vid at home in a recliner for sure.  I tell you, that van i luxury on wheels.  After that, we checked a few other spots and eventually ended up at the foundation slab.  Have you ever been to a foundation spot that wasn't fun???  Me neither.  Everyone seemed to have a rad time here and a session ensued on the ledge and flat gap. 



By this point, everyone was gettin a little zorched.  the humidity was gnarly the first half of the day and when that let up the sun was out and blazing in full effect.  We stuck it out though, waiting for the business folks of the downtown district to finish work so we could pick up where they had left off.

while everyone maxed in the shade, Zack was still at it.  switch tre.



the whole day, steve was makin these bird chirping noises.  Sounded like the alert for the blind folks to cross the crosswalk but steve said it was sum kinda meadow lark or sum shit from when he was stationed or lurkin sumwheres.  i can't remember but it was crackin me up all day.  O yeah.  He got that trick at the park but not with out leavin a little skin on the crete.

All in all a radicool day.  Thanks to todd, jessee, dirty dan, zack, steve. g, zeke and andy kelly for makin the trip and seamus for taggin along and ripping the spots up as usual.  Always rad havin friends from outta town come to skate our little city.  Makes the spots we have fun to skate again.  Get your friends together, grab your boards and come visit me.  I got spots and plenty of floor space........

the homies from sausage skateboard co. came up to visit me in bellingham yesterday. It was rad showin them around to our spotz and havin dudes who are pumped on skatin the shit we are usually over. Funny how havin the outta townerz getz the locals pumped again on the spots. Anyways, heres a teaser line of none other than Dirty Dan himself. It only took him ten years of me harrasing him to come up here to finally make it.

my weekend.......

(mon, tues, wed) was a great one indeed. rode my skateboard all three dayz. manage to stack sum clipz with brick jordan and had a all around good time in the sun. heres sum photos from day 3 of my time away from werk.

being the gnarly..........

people we are, we have a granted tendency to be rough on our clothing. It's just our lifestylez and whether its the skateboarding we do or the way we make a living (4 me waiting tables and carpentry) were hard on our garments. Socks our no exception and for me its one of the most important articles of clothing to not have holes. Jeans, whatever, undies, i can live. But socks? a good hole gets pretty annoying. That being said, i was stoked when i came up on a few free pairs of these bad boys not to mention i've been wanting a pair since i saw them. Stance socks is a sock specific skateboard company and i'll say, there damn comfy. Not at all bulky, they breath well and were not soaked after a day of skating and heck, they come in a whole array of cool colorways and art colabs. I haven't had em long enough to test durability, but by the looks of the craftsmanship, they should hold up as a good sock is suppose to. Check a pair out if you got the fundz you'll be hyped.



p.s. i'm still backin gold toe brand fer life, but ya gotta give the shout out to the free goodies.

to admit this, so i don't mind saying it. But everytime he comes to visit and supposedly skate?, he get's to hammered the night before and can't do anything past picking up the bong. Well he came to town again yesterday and skated campus like the young veteran he is. He stacked a good amount of tricks in a mere hour. Thanks for keeping it together Brick. you re-installed my faith in you.

rad thing about summer.........

people start feeling like making the trip to bellingham is werth while. Early this morning is was greeted by a car full of radness. Jihad, b.j., alex and kyle showed up. We made our way to the park and sessioned for a few hours waiting for a few more carloads to appear, all on their way to skate the kendall pool. What?? more homies! next thing you know michah, s-dog, brice and sum peeps from santa cruz rolled up, not to mention ryan and danny were lurkin around as usual. Gotta say. Bellingham park is super stale and today, although nothing outta da ordinary happened, it was refreshing being there. i mean shit, a bunch of rad friends from outta town, the first really nice day and our skateboards. Plus i like skating with all these folks. Well actually i like skating with everyone. wait, check.. there is one person that always brings down my skate experience. anyways, i hadda go to werk. i'm sure those guys had a rad session and that's another story for them to tell you another time. I'll post a few clips from the park today soon.
